Chamber seeking Business of Year nominations

The Greater Egg Harbor City Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for its annual Business of the Year award.

A committee of chamber members will review nomination letters to select the recipient based on contributions toward commercial growth and achievement, innovation, creativity and community involvement. The award will be presented at the chamber’s Installation of Officers/Business of the Year dinner in January.

Residents or interested parties are asked to send a letter detailing the reasons the nominee should receive the award to info@greatereggchamber.com, or mail to P.O. Box 129, Egg Harbor City, NJ 08215 no later than Dec. 31.

Egg Harbor City’s BOE to reorganize

The Egg Harbor City Board of Education will hold its annual reorganization meeting at 6 p.m. Jan. 2 in the cafeteria of the Community School, 730 Havana Ave.

The board’s regular meeting will take place at 6:15 p.m. Jan. 16 in the cafeteria of the Community School.

Spragg School to be featured

The Charles L. Spragg School is to be featured on “Classroom Close-Up, NJ.”

The show is to air on NJTV channel 23 on Dec. 23 and 29, Jan. 27 and Feb. 2. A production crew visited a second- and third-grade classroom in September to tape a story about the Progressive Mathematics Initiative, or PMI, a program developed by the nonprofit NJ Center for Teaching and Learning for K-12 mathematics instruction.
