Grant awarded to maintain playground

Children in Egg Harbor City will continue to enjoy the benefits of a community-built KaBOOM! Playground in the 600 block of Buffalo Avenue.

Egg Harbor Key Recreation Inc. of Egg Harbor City recently received a Let’s Play maintenance grant for $750 from the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group and KaBOOM! The KaBOOM Buffalo Avenue Playground was built Oct. 14, 2010.

Together, through Let’s Play, the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group and KaBOOM! will build or fix up 2,000 playgrounds by the end of 2013, benefiting an estimated 5 million children across North America. The funds are to be used to make purchases that will help improve and maintain the playspace. Spragg School Principal Adrienne Shulby submitted the application for this grant.
