Third-graders collect socks for needy

Third-grade students at the Charles L. Spragg School were so inspired by the motivational talk recently given by Donna Park about the Peace Pilgrim Mildred Norman and about Ms. Park’s mission for donations of gently used shoes that they came up with the idea that if the needy lack shoes, then they must also lack socks.

During October, the third-grade students will be collecting new socks for boys, girls, women and men. They have set up a collection box in the school and have set their goal to collect 1,000 new pairs of socks by Oct. 31. The students hope that the community will be able to help them reach their goal by sending in a package of new socks.
