Aloia earns Excellence in Service Award

Alexandra Aloia, of Egg Harbor City, earned the Excellence in Service Award from Alvernia’s Holleran Center for Community Engagement for completing more than 100 hours of community service in the last year.

Although Alvernia students are only required to complete 40 hours of community service over four years, Aloia, a senior History major has gone above and beyond by completing more than 100 hours in one year.

Holen receives scholarship at BJU

Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C., recently announced the latest recipients of the BJU Legacy Scholarship, including Dorothy Holen, of Egg Harbor City.

The BJU Legacy Scholarship is awarded to students who have at least one parent who graduated from BJU. The award provides up to $1,000 per year, for a maximum of $4,000 over eight semesters.

Students on dean’s list at Mount St. Mary’s

Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Md., is pleased to announce 552 students earned dean’s list honors for the spring 2013 semester, including Liam McManimon, of Egg Harbor City; and Martin Senese, of Egg Harbor City.

Senese on dean’s list at Widener University

Mark Senese, of Egg Harbor City, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2013 semester at Widener University in Chester, Pa.

The dean’s list recognizes full-time students who earned a grade-point average of 3.5 and above for the semester.
