The New Jersey Army National Guard Armory at milepost 11 on the Garden State Parkway was dedicated to the memory of Lt. Col. James F. Barkalow, who graduated Wildwood High School, and shortly after Pearl Harbor joined the Army Air Corps.

Mission Support Group Commander Tom Sippel, of Green Creek, talked to Vietnam Veteran, retired Sgt. David La Bar, of Wildwood, on Sept. 16 at the Army National Guard Army Dedication to Lt. Col. James F. Barkalow, who was a native of Wildwood.
New Jersey National Guard Military Chaplain Vincent Stokes, of the 253rd National Guard Armory in Cape May Court House, said a prayer while the wife of the late Lt. Col. James F. Barkalow, of Wildwood, Helen Barkalow, their daughter, Sharon Ellis, and sons James and Stephen Barkalow, bowed their heads in prayer at the dedication of the New Jersey Army National Guard Armory at Milepost 11 on the Garden State Parkway to Lt. Col. Barkalow.
