Part of The Chalfonte will be renamed the Southern Quarters in honor of the Satterfields, the Virginia family who bought the hotel in 1911.

Maria Neligan, 20, of Charlottesville, Va., works in reservations at The Chalfonte hotel. Behind Neligan is a portrait of her great-grandmother Meenie Satterfield, who once owned the hotel.
