Ocean View Veterinary Hospital is here 24 hours a day, seven days a week and holidays. We never close.

We treat dogs, cats and exotics, which include birds, reptiles, small mammals and snakes.

We provide emergency medicine and surgery, wellness exams, whatever anybody may need.

The hospital has a digital X-ray machine, ultrasound equipment, digital dental X-rays, a full-service laboratory on site, a surgical suite with two surgery tables and two anesthetic machines.

We charge the same price 24 hours a day, whether at 2 p.m. or 2 a.m. An initial visit is $60 for an office visit. After that, it depends on what the problem is.

If your vet is unavailable, we’ll be happy to treat your pet and send your vet the documentation needed for follow-up care.

We typically see lacerations, animals hit by cars, vomiting and diarrhea, eating indiscriminately and foreign bodies. Animals eat a lot of rocks, plastic, bones and things.

We have twin vets, Amy and Lisa Stoltenberg. It takes a little time to tell the difference between them. They’re from North Jersey, but they’re moving down here now.

Entry: I’ve been a vet for 37 years. I used to practice in North Jersey. A partner and I had two practices.

I have a lot of friends down here and have been coming here for 30 years. I felt there was a need in the area for emergency vet services, and I was ready to move on.

This area is great. We have friends who have a restaurant and a real estate agency down here, and everyone has been really nice.

We’re having our open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, with free fecal testing for dogs or cats, and free heartworm checks for dogs. We’ll have lots of giveaways, too. We’ll be giving tours and answering any questions people might have.

The future: We’re planning to offer care plans with one price with exams for the year.
