Yoga on the Beach starts Memorial Day weekend
Yoga on the Beach will take place at 8 a.m. on Saturdays and 7:30 a.m. Sundays on the Cape May beach behind Convention Hall, starting this weekend.
Sessions also will take place at Cape May Point State Park, (Lighthouse Beach) on Fridays at 6 p.m., Saturdays at 9:30 a.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8 a.m. Bring a blanket or large beach towel. Cost is $5 to $10, depending on the time of day.
Community breakfast set
The Cape May County National Guard Association will host a community breakfast at 9 a.m. May 25 at the Villas Diner, 2100 Bayshore Road, Villas.
All branches of the military are welcome, and the group would like to meet new members who have been honorably discharged from service, along with those currently serving. Call 609-729-1596 for more information.
‘Click It or Ticket’ campaign under way
Law-enforcement officers from the Middle Township Police Department will crack down on unbuckled motorists and passengers as part of the national “Click It or Ticket” campaign.
From May 20 through June 2, the initiative includes high visibility law enforcement seatbelt checkpoints and saturation patrols, as well as local and national publicity designed to ensure that drivers and passengers recognize the lifesaving value of seat belts.
Last year, the front seatbelt use rate in New Jersey declined for the first time in 15 years, to 88 percent, police said. The campaign will focus on rear passengers, as well.

Strawberry festival set
The 2013 West Cape May Strawberry Festival will take place June 1, rain date of June 2.
This event takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Wilbraham Park at the corner of West Perry, Broadway and Sunset in West Cape May.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
Enjoy strawberry smoothies, strawberry tacos, strawberry ice cream, chocolate covered strawberries, strawberry barbecue sauce on ribs and chicken and more. For sale will be strawberry-themed T-shirts, hats, jewelry, art, crafts and more. Live entertainment starts with Robin Hippell and Amy Hufana from 10 a.m. to noon, the Too Trio from noon to 3 p.m., the crowning of the Strawberry King and Queen at 3 p.m. and Mark Jacopec and his drumming troupe from 3:15 to 4 p.m.

Republican Club plans wine and cheese event
The Wildwood Crest Republican Club is having its annual spring wine and cheese event at 5 p.m. May 31 at the Wildwood Crest Yacht Club, 6510 Park Blvd.

Two schools joining fruit, vegetable program
The Glenwood Avenue Elementary School and Glenwood Avenue Annex School, both in Wildwood, will be among 144 New Jersey schools participating in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program for the 2013-14 school year, New Jersey Secretary of Agriculture Douglas H. Fisher has announced.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has allocated $3,934,586 for New Jersey for next school year’s program, which provides fresh produce to students during the school day, along with nutrition education. The goal is to expose children to healthy foods, increase their fruit and vegetable consumption and set them on the road to improved lifelong dietary habits.
