Lower Township

Ping-Pong tourneys seeking players

The Lower Township Department of Parks and Recreation is taking single-person registration for its Ping-Pong tournaments Wednesday, Jan. 30, for teens and Wednesday, Feb. 4, for adults. Each participant will be entered into a bracket, and equipment will be provided.

Practice time will be from 5 to 6 p.m. with the bracket play to follow. The top two finishers will win a prize. Day of event registration will be accepted.

Registration for kids’ lacrosse starts Feb. 2

The Lower Township Department of Recreation is offering lacrosse programs for boys and girls in the grades 3 to 8. Emphasis will be placed on the development of individual skills and providing and understanding of the game.

Participants must provide their own equipment. Registration will begin Saturday, Feb. 2, and will continue through Sunday, Feb. 17. Fees are as follows: Residents — $15 for one child, $25 for two children, and $30 for three or more children. Nonresidents — $20 for one child, $30 for 2 two children, and $35 for three or more children. Participants must register with U.S. Lacrosse (additional information will be provided by the team coaches, cost about $25). Call Lower Township Recreation Center at 609-886-7880, ext. 0.
