Boating safety classes offered
Flotilla 86 of Lower Township is hosting several boating safety classes, with dates set for May 25, June 1, July 6 and Aug. 3.
A boating safety certificate is required by the state for anyone 16 and older to operate personal watercraft or vessels longer than 12 feet. Classes take place at Price Hall at the corner of Academy and Seashore Roads in Cold Spring. Qualified personnel of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary are the instructors.

Candlelight vigil set at Vietnam Wall
Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 955 and American Legion Post 184, both of Wildwood, will hold a candlelight vigil at 8 p.m. May 25 at the Vietnam Memorial Wall at Burk and Ocean avenues in Wildwood.

A motorcycle procession from Rio Grande to the Vietnam Wall will be part of the event. Cyclists are asked to meet in the parking lot behind Rio Station to the right of the Rio Grande Wawa. The procession will leave promptly at 7:15 p.m. for the ride to Wildwood.
Memorial Day service planned
The official Wildwood Island Memorial Day service will be held at 11 a.m. May 27 at American Legion Post 184, Roberts and Atlantic avenues.
The service is hosted by Post 184 and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 955, with the help of the Wildwood Police Department, Fire Department, Beach Patrol, Police Explorers, Boys Scout Troop 75, Cub Scout Pack 184 and the Sightseer Tram Co.
The guest speaker will be retired Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Pierson. After the ceremony, three short services will be held at Memory Lane, the Vietnam Wall and the Atlantic Ocean.
