Harbor Gallery to host reception
The Artists Marketplace in the Nature Center of Cape May’s Harbor Gallery will continue through November and December. The public is invited to meet the artists and watch them demonstrate their media at a reception scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30. A few of the artists demonstrating are Laura McPherson, showing how she uses real shells to create her unique jewelry; Janet Payne, demonstrating printing from driftwood and fish; and Tina Giaimo, discussing the importance of composition in photography.
This show features the work of a variety of the Harbor Gallery artists focusing on nature, including Lee Hajduk, Pam Huber, Susan Ross, Lynda Fellenbaum, Anita Roth, Glenn Fellenbaum and Janet McShaine. The Harbor Gallery is located in the Nature Center of Cape May at 1600 Delaware Avenue in Cape May. Light refreshments will be served. All artwork is for sale. Crafts fair set for Convention Hall
The Holiday Crafts Fair sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities, will feature items handmade by local and regional artisans from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 23 and 24 at the new Convention Hall, Beach Avenue at Stockton.
The one-of-a-kind and handmade merchandise includes photography, jewelry, crocheted hats, clothing, copper frames, art work, sea glass, hand-knitted items, wreaths, doll accessories, blown glass, seasonal decorations and more.

PAC to hold benefit for storm victims
The Performing Arts Center of Middle Township will host New York performer Ron Gartner for a concert by to raise $10,000 for the New Jersey victims of Hurricane Sandy at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 11.
Gartner, a high energy performer, sings the songs of Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin and others from that era. The PAC is at 212 Bayberry Drive, one mile east of exit 10 of the Garden State Parkway. Tickets are $10 with all proceeds benefiting the Cape May County chapter of the American Red Cross for disaster relief. Call 609-463-1924.
Holiday trash pickup schedule announced
The borough of Wildwood Crest has announced its trash/recycling collection schedule for the upcoming holidays.
The collection schedule for the various upcoming holidays will be as follows:
Trash/recyclable items will not be collected on Thursday, Nov. 22 (Thanksgiving) and Friday, Nov. 23 (day after Thanksgiving). Those zones affected by these holidays will have their trash and recyclable items collected on Monday, Nov. 26.
Trash/recyclable items will not be collected on Monday, Dec. 24 and Tuesday, Dec. 25. Those zones affected by these holidays will have their trash and recyclable items collected on Wednesday, Dec. 26.
Trash/recyclable items will not be collected on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013. Those zones affected by this holiday will have their trash and recyclable items collected on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013.
