Prescription drug disposal day set

The Middle Township Police Department will participate in Operation Take Back New Jersey, a DEA initiative to collect unwanted, unused or expired medications. Township residents can dispose of potentially dangerous prescription drugs in a safe and non-hazardous manner from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Walmart on Route 9 in Rio Grande.

Wildwood Crest

Pier Recreation Center to close through Sept. 30

The Wildwood Crest Pier Recreation Center will be closed to the public through Sept. 30 for gymnasium floor resurfacing.

The building will reopen with normal operating hours at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 1. Open recreation, programs and activities for the fall season will begin on or shortly after Oct. 1. Information on any Wildwood Crest Recreation matters, including registration for fall programs, can be obtained Sept. 24-30 by calling the Joseph Von Savage Memorial Pool at 609-522-0084.
