Lower Township police arrested a man on charges he threatened to kill family members during a domestic dispute.

Joseph F. Arrigo, 57, of the Erma section of the township, allegedly struck a family member and threatened to kill his victim and other family members Thursday at a home on the 100 block of Sheridan Drive, police said in a release.

Arrigo was apprehended a block from the home, which he fled after his victim phoned police, they said. Weapons were recovered at the scene, police said.

Arrigo was charged with simple assault, aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and possessing a weapon when he was not allowed to do so, police said.

Arrigo was transported to Cape May County jail on $100,000 bail, police said.
