LOWER TOWNSHIP — A Villas man was shot and killed early Tuesday morning at a home on Ellery Road. Authorities are searching for the man suspected of shooting him.

Chris Turner, 44, of Alexander Avenue, was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds by police called to the home shortly after midnight.

Authorities are asking for the public’s help to find Bernard E. Green, 30, of East Pacific Avenue in the Villas. Green goes by nickname “Peanut,” they said.

Cape May County and local authorities investigating the crime determined Turner and Green, both visitors at the house, had a physical altercation that ended with Turner being shot multiple times and Green fleeing the scene.

Criminal complaints filed against Green include murder, weapons offenses and hindering an investigation. Authorities said they are seeking a second man, Kyle L. Timmons, 21, of East Pacific Avenue, on a hindering charge.

Ellery Road was closed to traffic early Tuesday morning. The modest single-story house was wrapped in crime-scene tape. Cape May County Prosecutor Robert Taylor released a picture of Green.
