Lower Township police arrested three men on assault and weapon charges after a fight was broken up Sunday evening.

Police responded to a fight at Bayshore Road and Fiore Lane in North Cape May at 5 p.m. Police said several people fled in a silver Mitsubishi Galant when officers arrived.

Police arrested three people at the scene: Jake Gould, 23, of North Cape May, was charged with possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and aggravated assault; Kursham Maxius, 22, of Cape May, was charged with aggravated assault for allegedly pointing a shotgun at a person and striking someone with a weapon; and Edward Flynn, 24, of North Cape May, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and unlawful sale of a weapon.

The three suspects were transported to Cape May County jail.
