Authorities in Cape May County seized more than $17,000 worth of drugs and a firearm in Middle Township and North Wildwood on Friday.

A home in each town was searched Friday, on the 200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, in the Rio Grande section of Middle Township and the 400 East block of 17th Avenue in North Wildwood, Cape May County Prosecutor Robert Taylor said.

The joint investigation involving the office and the two local police departments resulted in finding more than 5 ounces of cocaine, under a half ounce of heroin, a small amount of marijuana, several Suboxone sublingual film/strips, a firearm, drug paraphernalia and nearly $3,500 in cash, authorities said.

Anwar Roundtree, 37, and Shannon McMichael, 36, were both charged with possession of cocaine and heroin, and intent to distribute both drugs, authorities said. Roundtree was also charged with possession of a firearm, authorities said.

McMichael was released pending a court date and Roundtree was transported to Cape May County Jail on $100,000 cash bail, authorities said. His SUV was also confiscated and is pending forfeiture, authorities said.
