WILDWOOD - Seven city residents were arrested on drug charges following an investigation last Wednesday.

Cape May County Regional SWAT team members executed search warrants at three homes on the 200 block of East Garfield Avenue, said Cape May County Prosecutor Robert Taylor.

Authorities recovered 500 bags of heroin – worth about $10,000 – as well as cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and more than $2,500 in cash, he said.

Joel Candelaria-Reyes, 29; Edgar Nieves, 24; Juan Ruiz-Perez, 30; Jose Perez-Garcia, 21; Migsael Herrrera-Dardiz, 21; Jose Delgado, 22; and Juan Ruiz-Perez, 30, were all charged with possession of heroin and possession with intent to distribute, plus possession with intent to distribute heroin within 500 feet of a public place.

Migsael Herrrera-Dardiz, Jose Delgado and Juan Ruiz-Perez were also charged with resisting arrest, obstruction of justice and tampering with evidence.

They were all transported to Cape May County jail on $80,000 cash bail.

The search warrants were part of a month long drug enforcement initiative which netted 98 arrests in Wildwood during the month of August.
