Logan on dean's list
Derick W. Logan, of Cape May Court House, was named to the fall 2013 dean's list at St. Michael's College, a liberal arts and sciences, residential Catholic college in Burlington, Vt.
Students who complete at least 12 credits and achieve a grade point average of at least 3.4 at the end of a semester qualify.
Logan is a senior media studies and digital arts major who graduated from Middle Township High School. He is the son of Alison and Mark Logan of Cape May Court House.
Roberts on dean's list
Nathan Roberts, a freshman biology major, was named to the Dean's List with High Distinction for the fall 2013 semester at Grove City College.
Roberts is a 2013 graduate of Ocean City High School and is the son of Rev. Brian and Mrs. Sandra Roberts, of Ocean City.
Brittany Howell, of Cape May, graduated recently with a bachelor of science degree from Centenary College in New Jersey.
Students earn honors
Students at Fairleigh Dickinson University's College at Florham, in Madison, have been named to the Honors List for the fall 2013 semester. They included:
Miles Lizak, of Cape May, Jaimie Bingham, of Cape May Court House, and Walter Franks, of Ocean City, Honors List.
To qualify, a student must carry a 3.5 or better grade point average out of a possible 4.0 and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 letter-graded hours (four courses).
Szathmary on dean's list
Samantha L. Szathmary, of Cape May Court House, who majors in nursing, was named to the fall 2013 dean's list at DeSales University in Pennsylvania.
Hildebrandt wins award
Ryan Hildebrandt, of Cape May Court House, received the Dean's Award for academic excellence during the fall 2013 term at Colgate University in New York.
To qualify, a student must achieve a minumum 3.30 average while enrolled in at least four courses.
Hildebrandt, a graduate of Middle Township High School, is a member of the Colgate Class of 2017.
Students who have been awarded scholarships to attend Alvernia University in Pennsylvania this fall include:
Sarah McBride, of North Wildwood, who has been granted the $16,000 Presidential Scholarship to study history; and Sabiha Chowdhury, of Ocean City, who has been granted the $12,000 Veronica Founder's Scholarship to study nursing.
Myers wins award
On Feb. 23, the American Culinary Federation presented William Myers, executive chef at Stone Harbor Golf Club, with the President's Award for Professionalism.
Myers, the third person in the history of the Atlantic County Chapter to receive the Presidential Medallion, was recognized for his leadership, service and contribution to the advancement of the American Culinary Federation and the culinary industry. The ACF is a professional organization for chefs, founded in 1929 in New York City by three chefs' organizations: the Societe Culinaire Philanthropique, the Vatel Club and the Chefs de Cuisine Association of America.
Corwin on dean's list
Mitchell Corwin, a member of the class of 2014 from Ocean City, was named to the fall 2013 dean's list at Loyola University Maryland. To qualify, a student must have a GPA of at least 3.5 with a minimum of 15 credits.
Lombardo on dean's list
Matthew Lombardo, of Ocean City, was named to the University of Delaware's Dean's List for the 2013 fall semester.
To qualify, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.
