Gov. Chris Christie will visit the site of Habitat for Humanity’s Hurricane Sandy home rebuilding projects in Ventnor at 2 p.m. today.

More than 125 employees from Discovery Communications are working with the local Habitat for Humanity on the reconstruction of 10 homes damaged by Hurricane Sandy as part of their Discovery IMPACT initiative to help families displaced by the storm. The workers have come in from all over the country and are working for three days in Ventnor.

Ventnor Mayor Mike Bagnell, Cake Boss Buddy Valastro, and Dave Salmoni of Animal Planet will also be on site.

Discovery Education will also host an assembly for students Friday morning at the Sovereign Avenue School in Atlantic City that features a look at the Discovery Channel’s new series, North America. The program will include a live animal demonstration led by Salmoni. Valastro will provide a selection of sweets for the event.
