DWI checkpoint results in arrests

Ventnor Police have reported the results of their overnight DWI checkpoint, which took place Aug. 24-2 at Newport and Atlantic avenues.

VCPD officers with representatives from the Atlantic County Prosecutors Office were assisted by officers from other departments.

A total of 852 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, and police made three arrests for DWI and four arrests for drug offenses. There were three warrant arrests and a total of 16 motor vehicle summonses issued, police said in a news release.
