Lifeguard reunion set
The Longport Lifeguard Reunion will take place 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 10 in the Centennial Room on the second floor of Borough Hall. The cost is $25 per person and $40 per couple. Checks should be made out to Longport Historical Society and received by Aug. 8 at 2301 Atlantic Ave., Longport, NJ 08403.

Irish Concert planned
The 18th annual Irish Concert in Longport will take place at 7 p.m. Aug. 17, featuring the Mike Garvin Celtic Band along with Irish dancers from the South Jersey Irish Society.
The concert is free and features local resident Mary Garvin and Doug Farrell singing with Margate resident Brendan Gottschall on the Irish fiddle. Bleachers and chairs will be provided, but attendees can bring their own chairs. In case of rain, the concert will to move to the Centennial Room on the second floor of Borough Hall 2305 Atlantic Ave.
Boat parade set
The Nights in Ventnor Go Green Parade is set for Aug. 3 and has some new twists. The non-fossil-fueled parade of SUB’s, kayaks, rowboats and any type of “green” powered floating craft, powered by costumed oarsmen and women, will entertain on the back bay and canals of Ventnor. The parade begins at 5 p.m. at Ski Beach or the Dorset Avenue boat ramp.
