CASA schedules three information sessions
CASA for Children of Atlantic and Cape May Counties is recruiting volunteers and will hold three information sessions on three different days in Margate.
The sessions will take place at 5 p.m. Feb. 18, 11 a.m. Feb. 20 and 2 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Margate Library, 8100 Atlantic Ave. Anyone interested in learning more about volunteering to help abused and neglected children should register by calling 609-601-7800 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Trained CASA Volunteers advocate on behalf of abused and neglected children in the foster care system and are dedicated to ensuring these children are placed in safe permanent homes as quickly as possible. See AtlanticCapeCASA.org.
Share Shabbat with Congregation Beth Judah
Dr. Itzhak Brook, Professor of Pediatrics at Georgetown University and author of “In the Sands of Sinai: A Physician’s Account of the Yom Kippur War,” will speak at Congregation Beth Judah in Ventnor on Feb. 21 during the Share Shabbat Dinner, which follows 6 p.m. services.
His topic for the evening is “The Young Kippur War-Historical Perspective.” Brook will speak again Saturday morning, Feb. 22, during services on “A Physician’s Personal Experiences in the Yom Kippur War.” He will take questions during Kiddush Lunch following services.
