Two pedestrians hit on Jerome Avenue in Margate

Margate police are investigating a motor vehicle accident that injured two pedestrians on North Jerome Avenue in front of the Jewish Community Center on Tuesday night.

The accident occurred after 8:30 p.m. and the road was closed to traffic until 10:30 p.m.

Barbara Kardon, 78, of Longport and Samuel Gordesky,91, of Somers Point were the pedestrians.

Both remain in critical condition at separate hospitals. Kardon at Atlanticare city campus, Gordesky at Cooper.

Louise Giese, of Williamstown, Gloucester County, was driving her vehicle towards the bridge when the incident occurred, police said Wednesday.

No summonses have been issued at this time.
