Bill Elliott and his wife, Muriel, of Egg Harbor Township, laughed as Gregory Gregory, owner of Gregory’s Restaurant and Bar in Somers Point, roasted Bill during a ceremony at Sandi Pointe Coastal Bistro on Thursday evening.

The roast was put together by the Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Elliott recently retired from his position as executive director of the Shore Medical Center Foundation. He also created the Ensign John R. Elliott HERO Campaign for Designated Drivers, named for his son, who was killed by a drunken driver in July 2000.
