Family Fun Fest set
Northfield presents its annual Family Fun Fest from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 28 (rain date noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 29) at Birch Grove Park on Burton Avenue.
This event features: local vendors, a Hooked on Fishing Not Drugs fishing tournament with prizes for girls and boys 15 and younger (registration 8 a.m., starts 9 a.m.) hosted free by the Atlantic County Municipal Alliance, Penny the Clown, DJ, pie eating contest, dunk tank with Northfield Mayor Vince Mazzeo and 7-Eleven owner Kenny Patel on the board, hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream, hay rides, pizza, the American Legion Riders, colors posted by Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 228 and Korean War Veterans of Atlantic County Chapter, fire, police and EMT vehicles.

Library hosting events
The Otto Bruyns Public Library in Northfield offers events for the community in October.
The Friends of the Northfield Public Library will hold the library’s Fall Book and Bake Sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 5. The sale will take place in the library’s new event room. Paperback books are three for $1, hardback books are $1, and children’s books range from 25 cents to 50 cents.
At 6:30 p.m. Oct. 15, join Michele for an adults’ Zumba lesson.
Author Jenny Perry presents her book ‘The Jennifers’ at 1 p.m. Oct. 19.
The Cumberland County Paranormal Investigators will stop by at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 21.
The library’s traditional Halloween Party will take place at 11 a.m. Oct. 26. Guests are asked to come in costume. There will be a craft, stories, games and treats for kids.

Garden club to meet at Senior Center
The monthly meeting of the Green Thumb Garden Club of Somers Point will take place at 7 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Senior Center building on Ambler Road.
The program for the evening will be “Roses,” presented by Val Vinal, a member of the Rose Society and the Ocean City Garden Club.
New members and guests are welcome.
