Mainland holding Home Run Derby
The Mainland Regional High School Softball team will sponsor a Home Run Derby from 10 to 2 p.m. May 11 at the varsity softball field along Route 9.
There will be three age groups: 7-13, 14-18 and 19-plus. One point is awarded per infield hit, three points per outfield hit and five points for a home run. All participants get 10 chances and receive medals while supplies last. Hot dogs, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase, and prizes will be awarded to the winners in each age group.

Country Fair set for All Wars Memorial Park
The annual Linwood Country Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 11 at All Wars Memorial Park. Rain date is May 18.
The fair will begin with the pet parade, where all sorts of animals will take center stage with many sporting unusual outfits.
The Pro Dance Academy will perform, followed with mummery by the Fralingers String Band. Other entertainment includes Giggles and Galore bouncy rides, Marshall Steve’s pony rides, Barnyard Friends petting zoo and music by DJ Lilly. Back this year will be the plate smash game by the local Kiwanis.
Renovation debris to be collected
The week of May 13 through 17 on their regular trash collection day, residents may place household renovation debris, to include doors, windows, fencing, cabinets, kitchen and bathroom fixtures and scrap wood out for collection.
