A man found shot in the head in Somers Point remains in serious condition, acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain.

The 22-year-old man, whose name is not being released, was found unresponsive inside the Somers Point Village Apartments at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

The shooting has not been classified as an attempted homicide.

“The nature and cause of the incident, which resulted in the victim being hospitalized in serious condition, remains under active investigation.” McClain said. “There is no further comment from the office.”

The Somers Point Police Department and the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit are investigating the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call Major Crimes at 609-909-7666.
