Northfield Community School will open on Tuesday after closing for more than a week for mold removal, according to Superintendent Janice DeCicco Fipp.
Mold was found in a closet on Sept. 5, the day before the scheduled first day of school. Investigations revealed more mold throughout the building.
The library will remain sealed off, and will be tested on Tuesday.
"This evening, Monday, Sept. 17, Coastal Environmental, our air quality consultants, have received the final air quality test results and have completed detailed visual inspections as well," Fipp said in a release. "We have been deemed safe for all occupants."
A revised school calendar will be post on the school's website on Sept. 25
Consultants determined that mold growth began in late August during excessively humid weather.
