NORTHFIELD -An alleged burglar fled the scene on the best vehicle he could, police said — a kid’s bicycle.

A homeowner on the 600 block of First Street called 911 to say that a man was trying to climb through a window, Lt. Dan Mitchell said in a statement.

Sgt. Scott Pollak and Patrolman William Geiger responded to the scene and found Juan C. Villa-Gomez, 24, Pleasantville, “attempting to flee the area on a child’s bicycle,” Mitchell said.

Villa-Gomez was arrested and charged with burglary, theft, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia and taken to the Atlantic County jail.
