Southbound lanes on the Route 52 causeway will be closed to traffic from 10 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday morning, the Department of Transportation said.
The closure is planned to permit construction crews to work on the bridge. Traffic will be detoured to the Ocean City-Longport Bridge or to the 34th Street Bridge.
While the causeway opened to full capacity in the spring, work has been on-going since on the approximately $500 million project. Work is still on schedule to be finished by the end of the year.
