Two people were hospitalized after a motor vehicle accident in Linwood Tuesday afternoon.
The accident occurred at 2:38 p.m. at Poplar Avenue and Shore Road when a car driven by a 17-year-old Linwood resident struck another vehicle, police said in a release. Wanita Clegg, 21, of Atlantic City, and her passenger Shamira Howard, 20, of Atlantic City were transported to Shore Medical Center in Somers Point for unknown injuries, police said.
The Linwood Fire Department responded to the accident and extricated Howard form the vehicle, police said.
The intersection was closed for about an hour and the accident is under investigation, police said.
