AtlantiCare honors Spirit of Women

AtlantiCare recognized the 2013 Spirit of Women and Healthy Educator award winners during a dinner in their honor May 23 at the Atlantic City Country Club.

The 2013 Mary Ann Coyle Community Hero AtlantiCare Spirit of Women Award was presented to Susan Polk, of Devonshire. The AtlantiCare Foundation presented Healthy Educator awards to Fern Hedrick and Devon Kallen, both of Northfield; and Mimi Lynch and Cheryl Mendez, both of Egg Harbor Township. Winners are eligible for the National Spirit of Women Award.

Brezel graduates

Jessica Brezel, of Linwood, received a bachelor degree in business administration from the Goizueta Business School of Emory University on May 13 at its 168th commencement ceremony.

Bruno on dean’s list

Chelsea Bruno, of Somers Point, was named to the dean’s list at James Madison University in Virginia for the spring 2013 semester.

Patterson on dean’s list

The University of Hartford has announced that Benjamin Patterson, of Northfield, was named to the dean’s list for spring 2013.

Rovins named to dean’s list

Anna Rovins, of Linwood, was named to the the dean’s list at Quinnipiac University for the Spring 2013 semester.

To qualify, students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 with no grade lower than C. Full-time students must complete at least 14 credits in a semester, with at least 12 credits that have been graded on a letter grade basis to be eligible. Part-time students must complete at least six credits during a semester.

Spear graduates from Lafayette College

Leo Spear, of Linwood, graduated with a bachelor of science degree in neuroscience recently from Lafayette College in Pennsylvania.

Students graduate from Widener University

Students who received degrees from Widener University during commencement ceremonies May 18 included:

Steven Schoenewald, of Somers Point, bachelor of science degree in management.

Leo Spear, of Linwood, was named to the 2013 spring semester dean’s list at Lafayette College in Pennsylvania. To qualify, students must achieve at least a 3.6 semester GPA out of a possible 4.0.
