McGroarty receives leadership award
Luanne McGroarty, BSN, R.N.-B.C., nurse manager for 5 Stainton, is the recipient of Shore Medical Center’s 2012 third quarter Leadership Profile Award.
McGroarty joined Shore Medical Center in August of 1983 as a staff R.N. After working in the Critical Care, Clinical Education and Med/Surg departments, she became a Nurse Manager in 2008. As nurse manager, McGroarty has demonstrated an ability to build relationships and foster teamwork while encouraging innovation within her department.
In her leadership role, McGroarty has spearheaded several initiatives to improve patient care, including “Transforming Care at the Bedside,” hourly rounding with Junior Volunteers, a patient and family liaison program, and a “Get to Know Your Caregiver” program that prominently hangs pictures of staff for patients to see.
She lives in Linwood with her husband, Joe.
