Perez named employee of month at Shore

For consistently delivering outstanding, patient-centered service and embodying Shore Medical Center’s Mission, Vision and Values, Shore Medical Center announces that Nurses Aide Fernando Perez has been named the medical center’s December 2012 Employee of the Month.

Perez joined Shore in October of 2009 as a Patient Companion, quickly pursuing his certification as a Nurses Aide. After spending time on Shore’s Float Team, Perez joined the staff of the medical center’s 5th Stainton unit.

Locals named to dean’s list at University of Delaware

Several local students have been named to the University of Delaware’s dean’s list for fall 2012. Those students are Meredith Castellani, Sydney Finkelstein, Brandon Goldfine, Brennan Karrer, Samantha Malamut, Melissa Miller, Cole Winarick, Julia Zeltner, Sarah Slotoroff, all of Linwood; Jessica Mann, of Northfield; and Justin Phillips, of Somers Point.

To meet eligibility requirements for the dean’s list, a student must be enrolled full time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or above for the semester.

Goldthorp on dean’s list at Coastal Carolina University

Jordan A. Goldthorp, of Somers Point, was among the nearly 1,800 students from Coastal Carolina University who made the fall 2012 dean’s list.

To qualify for the dean’s list, freshmen must earn a 3.25 grade-point average, and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 grade-point average.

Widener University announces dean’s list for fall

The following students from the area were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester at Widener University in Chester, Pa.

Colleen Tighe, of Linwood, an early years/special education major; Devin Weesner, a nursing major; Jennifer Desalle, an allied health major; and Stacy Kashey, an allied health major, all of Northfield; and Christian Scittina, a psychology major, of Somers Point.

The dean’s list recognizes full-time students who earned a grade-point average of 3.5 and above for the semester.
