Classes can help navigate digital genealogy

Most people don’t know that the Ocean City Free Public Library has a subscription to Ancestry.com that anyone with a library card can use with access to other useful databases. Users must be on site to use this program.

To help get started, Museum Director Jeff McGranahan is leading a five-week class titled “Genealogy 101: Techniques and Tutorials.” The classes will run from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursdays from Feb. 21 to March 21 in the Ocean City Free Public Library Computer Center. Participants will learn how to navigate their pasts both online and off. This workshop is free, but registration is required and space is limited. Call 609-399-1801 to reserve a seat. Basic computer skills and experience with the Internet required.
