Ocean City

Tabernacle hosting citywide prayer service for storm victims

OCNJ CARE will hold a special Community Prayer Service at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at Ocean City Tabernacle, 550 Wesley Ave. in Ocean City.

The prayer service will provide the opportunities to lift up Ocean City residents, homeowners, families, and businesses that were affected by Hurricane Sandy. Special music and prayer will be included in the service that will last just less than an hour.

Representatives from various congregations will lead. Singers are invited to participate in a community chorus for the event. Get music in advance from the Tabernacle and meet at 3:30 p.m. Praise bands and worship teams from many churches will combine for celebration and thanks.

Join in giving thanks for the outpouring of generosity and the many ways people are responding to the challenging post hurricane recovery effort. Call 609-399-2988 or 609-399-1915.

Upper Township

Seaville church seeking members for new youth group

A new regional youth group is forming in the South Jersey area. This youth group will include kids from the surrounding counties, coming together to have fun and fellowship with other youth to share the love of God. The group will encompass youth from all denominations, including those who haven’t quite figured out their denomination yet. The first kickoff gathering is 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at Seaville United Methodist Church, 3100 Shore Road.

This will be a safe place to let the children of the community come together to play games, participate in mission activities, eat dinner and have a devotion. Devotions will be led by a different pastor each week. Food will be provided. Our mission activity for the week of Dec. 2 involves wrapping Christmas presents for community outreach programs. These presents will be distributed to children in need.

Regular, weekly meetings will begin Sunday, Jan. 6. Call Cricket Denton Brennan at 609-624-9019 or seavilleumc@gmail.com.
