Volunteers needed for cleanup Feb. 2

OCNJ CARE, the nonprofit organization established to help Ocean City residents and businesses rebuild and recover after Hurricane Sandy, is looking for volunteers to help in an upcoming cleanup and recovery effort from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2. Volunteers are needed to aid in debris cleanup at the north end housing development of Pecks Beach Village at Fourth Street and Haven Avenue.

Citywide blood drive Feb. 6

Ocean City will host a citywide blood drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the Ocean City Civic Center, Sixth Street and Boardwalk. To be eligible to donate individuals must be 17 years of age, in general good health, weigh at least 110 pounds and have not donated in the past 65 days. Type O blood donors are especially needed.

Appointments for the blood drive are preferred but not required. To make an appointment, call City Offices at 609-525-9365 or sign up at the City Hall Reception Area, Second Floor, 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Signups also are taken at redcrossblood.org.

Upper Township

Kindergarten registration set

Kindergarten registration for the Upper Township Primary School for 2013-1014 will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 19 for last names A to M and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 20 for last names N to Z. Registration must be made in person by parent or guardian. It is recommended that children not attend this registration due to length of time this process takes.

To enroll your child bring proof of birth by birth certificate, proof of immunizations, proof of residency and guardianship/custody papers if applicable.
