MIDDLE TOWNSHIP _ The project replacing three traffic lights on the Garden State Parkway in Cape May Court House will lead to a closing of a section of the highway on Sept. 17, according to township police.

From 10 p.m. Sept. 17 to 5 a.m. southbound traffic will be detoured at Avalon Boulevard (Exit 13) onto Route 9 to Stone Harbor Boulevard (Exit 10) as the highway is closed for utility work.

Northbound traffic will be able to continue but in a single lane and with a detour onto Moore Road and then back onto the parkway northbound at a new entrance ramp.

If there is inclement weather on Sept. 17 the closing will be on Sept. 18 during the same nighttime hours.
