Two Sea Isle City men were arrested in the robbery of a man at gunpoint inside his home early Sunday morning.
James J. Schneider, 32, and Mark J. Ferrari Jr., 26, are charged with robbery, burglary, theft and conspiracy, police said. They were taken to Cape May County Jail on $200,000 bail each.
They are accused of tricking Dennis Bestanic Jr. into opening the door of his Sea Isle City home at about 3 a.m. Sunday morning, forcing their way inside by showing a handgun and demanding money.
Bestanic was struck in the head with the gun at one point during the attack, police said, and he was forced into a closet by one man while the other searched the house for money.
The two men left the home with two LCD televisions, a DVD player and Bestanic's cell phone, police said.
Bestanic was eventually able to free himself from the closet and reported the attack by flagging down a Sea Isle City police officer.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Sea Isle City Detective Bureau at 609-263-7132 or Cape May County Crime Stoppers at 609-465-2800.
