Nesi honored for academics

Jessica Nesi, of Marmora, was recognized during Widener University's 2014 Honors Week as a members of the Kappa Theta Epsilon International Honor Society for Cooperative Education.

Kappa Theta Epsilon was established in 1957 for the purpose of promoting academic achievement and recognizing outstanding students participating in cooperative education. To be inducted, students must exhibit superior scholarship, exemplary character and distinguished personal qualities.

Aaron-Stanton joins honor society

Desiree Aaron-Stanton, of Ocean City, was initiated at Widener University into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.

About 32,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni are initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation and requires nomination and approval by a chapter.

Kelly on dean's list

Alexa Kelly, of Ocean City, a writing, lit and publishing major, was named to Emerson College's Dean's List for the fall 2013 semester. To qualify, students must have a grade point average of 3.7 or higher.

DeRuiter named to dean's list

Brandon DeRuiter, of Ocean View, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2013 semester at Geneva College in Pennsylvania. DeRuiter is a senior majoring in biology. To qualify for the dean's list, students must earn a 3.6 grade point average or better.
