Atlantic Cape Community College awarded 174 scholarships totaling $173,960 at its 46th annual Scholarship and Awards Ceremony on May 20. Scholarships and recipients included:
AAUW Marion MacEwan Second Chance Scholarship, awarded to a Cape May County female who has completed at least 15 credits with a minimum 2.0 GPA: Aimee Wynne, of Seaville.
ACCCEA Union Scholarship, awarded to Atlantic or Cape May County students who are members, of or have an immediate family member in NJEA with a GPA of 2.5 or higher: Kaitlin Kirkpatrick, of Seaville.
Atlantic Cape Community College Restaurant Gala Scholarship, awarded to second-year culinary arts majors who are outstanding in attendance and ethics with three letters, of recommendation from chef educators and in good academic standing: Vanessa Burk, of Ocean City.
Caesars Foundation Championship Golf Tournament Scholarship, awarded to a Cape May County resident with a GPA, of 2.5 or better: Theresa Hart, of Ocean City.
Cape May County Championship Golf Tournament Scholarship, awarded to Atlantic and Cape May County residents with a GPA, of 2.5 or higher: Steven Wilson, of Seaville.
Donald P. Crescenzo, D.D.S. Scholarship, awarded to a full-time Atlantic or Cape May County resident majoring in science: Tara L. Baliban, of Ocean City.
Grace M. Caruso Memorial Scholarship, awarded to a male or female student majoring in culinary or nursing who is a resident of Cape May County with a 3.0 GPA: Vanessa Burk, of Ocean City.
Jane Scharfetter Memorial Scholarship, awarded to a full- or part-time student from Atlantic or Cape May County majoring in education: Kaitlin Kirkpatrick, of Seaville.
Joseph A. Romano Sr. Scholarship, awarded to an Atlantic or Cape May County resident majoring in business with a GPA, of 3.0 or better: Jason Stephens, of Petersburg.
Margaret Wright Nursing Award, awarded to a Cape May County second-year nursing student: Patricia Burch, of Seaville.
Nate Allen Memorial Scholarship, awarded to a full-time culinary arts major who is a resident, of Atlantic or Cape May County: Jacob Mann, of Marmora.
Boylan on dean’s list
Nikki Marie Boylan, of Seaville, was named when Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania released its list of students named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester of the 2012-13 academic year.
To qualify, a student must earn a quality point average of 3.5 or higher (based on 4.0) during the semester.
Adam Hadley, of Marmora, earned a bachelor of science degree in entrepreneurship May 18 when 592 students received degrees during commencement exercises at Grove City College in Pennsylvania.
Caroline Jaquett, of Seaville, graduated May 20 from Wake Forest University in North Carolina.
Griffith on dean’s list
Sam Griffith, of Ocean City, was named to the 2013 spring semester dean’s list at Lafayette College in Pennsylvania.
To qualify, a student must achieve at least a 3.6 semester grade point average out of a possible 4.0.
