Residents earn degrees from University of Vermont

Daniel T. Newcomb, of Eldora, received a bachelor of science degree in business administration; Emily K. Hines, of Ocean City, received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology; and Austin T. Dean, of Woodbine, received a bachelor of science degree in secondary education social sciences when 2,557 students who were awarded bachelor's degrees during the University of Vermont's 211th Commencement ceremonies May 19.

McClennen recognized for academic achievement

Jaime McClennen, a marketing major from Palermo, was inducted to the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society during the spring 2013 semester at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia.

Chestnut Hill College inducted 32 new members into the society this year.

Alpha Lambda Delta, a national honor society for first-year college students, recognizes academic achievement. Full-time students are invited to become members of Alpha Lambda Delta if they succeed in maintaining a 3.5 G.P.A or are in the top 20 percent of their class.

Gillece graduates from Rosemont College

John Michael Szczepaniak-Gillece, of Ocean City, earned a bachelor of arts degree in Communication from Rosemont (Pa.) College in May.

Olandt graduates

Rebekka L. Olandt, of Seaville, graduated cum laude with a B.S. in mathematics May 19 when Bucknell University conferred bachelor's and master's degrees to students who completed their graduation requirements during the past spring semester.

Olandt is a member of Kappa Delta Pi international education honor society and Pi Mu Epsilon national mathematics honor society.

Atlantic Cape pins 62 new nurses

Atlantic Cape Community College awarded nursing pins to 62 new nursing graduates at its annual Nurses Pinning Ceremony, May 22. The pins signify the completion of the nursing degree program at Atlantic Cape. The pinning ceremony was held at the George L. Hess Educational Complex in Mays Landing.

Graduates include: Megan Schein-Repici, of Belleplain; Ashley DuBruille, of Beesleys Point; Shannon McGrath and Nicole Patroni, of Ocean City; Kristine Senser, Palermo; Margaret Platt, of Seaville; Erin Keck and Laurie Ebert, of Sea Isle City; and Angela Ennis, of Woodbine.
