DENNIS TOWNSHIP — New Jersey State Police do not plan to identify the elderly woman who died in a house fire on Wednesday until sometime next week.

Acting Sgt. Adam Grossman said Friday morning that testing to determine the identity of the woman found in a Woodbine-Ocean View Road home that burned down will not be finished until next week.

The fire was called in by neighbors at 3:36 a.m. on Wednesday and was extinguished by volunteer firefighters from Ocean View, Dennisville and Seaville.

The fire also ignited the victim's car, but no other home was affected by the blaze.

The cause of the blaze is still undetermined and continues to be under investigation by both the New Jersey State Police and the Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office.
