4-8" of snow is possible along the shore, where the most mixing with rain and sleet may occur.  8-12" from Little Egg Harbor to Port Norris, and 12"+ from Toms River to Millville points north and west.  This forecast can change as the storm evolves, so watch for updates.

South Jersey is expecting its first major snowstorm of not only 2016 but all winter, but how should one prepare for such a weekend?

Atlantic City Electric warned consumers to prepare for a possible multi-day outage of power.

So where on the list do priorities fall for such items as flashlights, food or drinks? Do you purchase that extra case of water over the case of beer?

The Red Cross compiled a list on its website for snowstorm necessities.

Water: At least enough to last for three days, or one gallon per person for each day.

Non-perishable foods: Enough for three days. Can you say “PB&J”?

Flashlights: But don’t forget extra batteries for when that board game in the dark goes longer than planned.

Extra Cash: In case you run out of food, batteries or beer.

Cell phone and charger: Probably smart to keep charged as long as power is on in the house.

Extra baby/pet supplies: You can never be too careful!
