DMB Caravan gates are open to kick off third and final day
ATLANTIC CITY - About 300 spectators streamed through the Bader Field gates when they opened for the third and final day of the Dave Matthews Band Caravan today.
About 25,000 to 30,000 people are expected to watch 13 bands at staggered times on three stages arranged on the 142-acre water-bordered tract.
Amos Lee, David Gray, Alberta Cross and Fitz and the Tantrums highlight the schedule leading up to headliner Dave Matthews Band at 7:05 p.m., an hour earlier than previous nights.
About 50,000 music fans attended the festival during the first couple days. Their calm demeanor has drawn compliments from venue staff and people living and working in Chelsea Heights, the neighborhood surrounding Bader Field. Concertgoers likewise gave positive feedback about the venue - minus the black dust from the defunct airport's old runways - and many said the city was safer and cleaner than they had expected.
