A memorial ceremony held at the 9/11 memorial at Jackson Avenue and the Boardwalk. The resort’s event honored Atlantic City natives Victor J. Saracini and John P. O’Neill who were killed during the 2001 attacks.

The Borough of Avalon held a ceremony honoring those lost on Sept 11, 2001. The monument, erected by Public Works employees and members of the carpenters union, stands 9 feet 11 inches tall and is placed at an angle of 9 degrees 11 minutes facing Manhattan.
