Top area musicians assemble for Hansen House Concert with a cause

The fourth annual Street Life Concert to benefit Hansen House - a residential addiction treatment facility in Galloway Township - brings together some of the the region's top singers and musicians at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at The Concert Venue at Harrah's Atlantic City.

Street Life is produced by Melanie Rice and Bob Fowler, with well-known Philadelphia entertainer Eddie Bruce serving as master of ceremonies. Among the performers are Alex Glover, Bobby, Kit & Greg, Bugzy, Cathy Donofrio, Cibon, Dane Anthony, George Mesterhazy, Geri Mingori, Gina Roche, Howard Isaacson, Jennifer Hansen, Kathy Fowler, Michael Pedicin, Ken Jeremiah, Melanie Rice, Patty Balbo, Paul Jost, Suze Schneider and Tom Adams.

The inaugural concert in 2005 and the accompanying CDs were the brainchild of Nina Soifer of Northfield.

Soifer became inspired when hearing Hansen House founder Jennifer Hansen perform a song titled "Street Life," which Hansen wrote about her own experience of having lived on the street with a drug addiction.

"Jennifer's song really touched me, and I knew it would touch others as well. That gave me the idea to put together the CD and concert," Soifer says. "We have so many exceptionally talented singers and musicians in the area. Our thanks go out to them, and to Melanie Rice and Bob Fowler, who have donated many hours of time and talent to make this event a reality. We are also very grateful to Harrah's for the strong support we've received from them for this event since its inception."

All proceeds from the Street Life Concert benefit Hansen House, two, 24-bed residential treatment halfway houses (one for men and one for women), at 411 Aloe Street in Galloway Township. The Hansen House treats the diseases of alcoholism and drug addiction, providing clients with the tools and skills needed to live productive and responsible lives.
