It's almost that time of year again. The time when you vow that you are going to run two miles every day before work, or you're really going to get started on that diet you've been meaning to try. Although your New Year's resolutions may turn out to be a perpetual bust, your New Year's Eve doesn't have to be.

There are many great places for you to be when the ball drops and a lot of them are within a fairly close proximity of each other. Since driving around town, or even driving home is usually out of the question, why not look to the casinos as your perfect New Year's Eve destination?

Dusk in the Caesars Resort will host a dual event this year. Starting with a three hour open bar from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. for $99 and ending with an official New Year's Eve after party for $20. According to Craig Slotkin from Dusk, "We will be selling tickets for the after party at the door, but it has a tendency to fill up. We encourage people to pick tickets up beforehand on our website, because it's going to be really great."

It is not uncommon to see celebrities, and sports stars at Dusk on a normal weekend, so the chances of you rubbing elbows at the bar on New Year's is almost a guarantee. If you can't make it for when the ball drops, a $20 cover charge at the after party is one of the best going rates around.

The dress code does not change for the celebration, but for those of you who are not familiar with Dusk, it is dressy-casual.

Club Providence in the Quarter at Tropicana is one of the hottest clubs in Atlantic City. With the reputation that they have, it is no doubt that their New Year's Eve party will have to mirror their already lavish image.

The club has everything from bottle service to VIP lounges, and is no doubt worth the price of admission. For $149, you get five hours open bar from 9:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. If that is not enough to have you sold, the ticket also includes an hour and a half of hors d'oeuvres from 9:30 to 11 p.m., a champagne toast for all in attendance at midnight, confetti to ring in the new year, and two DJs stationed around the dance floor who will keep the beat going until 4 a.m.

When the countdown is happening, you can watch Times Square live on an oversized projection screen in the middle of the dance floor. But, if you think you are going to be left out at midnight because you are in a separate room, don't sweat it. Flat panels in every room of the club will also be playing the live countdown from New York.

Just because the Borgata is not connected to the Atlantic City Boardwalk, don't let a short cab ride deter you from heading to one of Atlantic City's biggest hot spots. Although it is a young casino, what it lacks in years, it makes up for in entertainment.

The two Borgata heavy hitters are Club Mixx and Mur.Mur and both clubs offer an ideal party package for the new year. Both parties offer a two-hour hosted premium cocktail bar and have table service available. Table service includes one complimentary bottle of champagne for every six people in the party.

Music at Mur.Mur will be played all night by D-Nice and Mixx will have music by DJ Ruckus. Each club will include a performance by British rapper/beatboxer Jay Sean.

"Borgata's dedication to its nightlife entertainment program is something that partygoers today really appreciate," says Gregg Coyle, director of nightlife for Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. "Our DJs provide more than just the sound for the party, they are the party."

Whichever club you choose, one thing is for certain, the chances of you not having a good time are slim to none. Tickets for the party at Mur.Mur are currently priced at $125 a person, and are $100 a person at Mixx. Coyle goes on to say, "It's going to be a night to remember at Borgata."

Tickets for New Year's Eve parties are pretty well known for doing two things: increasing in price as it gets closer and closer to the new year, and also selling out very quickly. My advice to you would be to find your niche as soon as you can and reserve your tickets before they all disappear.
