Rutgers Environmental Stewards training: Registration is open for the Atlantic County Utilities Authority’s Rutgers Environmental Stewards Training in Egg Harbor Township. The program educates the public about the science behind pressing environmental issues and helps participants create positive change in their communities. Weekly classes focus on climate change, soil health, energy, waste management, water resource protection, invasive species management and habitat conservation. Pet-owner workshops: Alley Cat Allies will hold two free training workshops for pet owners Saturday at the Hampton Inn, 338 E. White Horse Pike, Absecon. Cape May County Technical School open house: The Cape May County Technical School will hold its annual open house 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. The event is open to the public and includes information about the high school, career/technical education, exploratory program, academic classes, admission process and co-curricular activities. Mobile mammography van schedule: The AMI Foundation’s Dr. Jan Astin Mobile Digital Mammography Van will visit Autumn Lake Healthcare at Oceanview, 2721 Route 9, Dennis Township, on Nov. 29 to provide breast cancer screenings for women. Cape Assist offers public advocates: Families may meet with public advocates for counsel and information about substance abuse issues from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays at Middle Township Municipal Court, 2 S. Grandparents support group: Grandparents Raising Grandchildren support group will meet Wednesday at the co-op office in Cape May Court House.
