Family Promise fundraiser: Family Promise of Atlantic County will hold a Beef, Brews & Brains event from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at JD’S Pub & Grill, Smithville Square, Galloway Township. Atlantic County to honor fallen veterans: Atlantic County will hold its 34th annual Veterans Memorial program 2 p.m. May 25 at the Veterans Cemetery in Estell Manor. The program will feature the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Color Guard, the Atlantic County Corrections Officers’ Honor Guard, the Atlantic City Fire Department Sandpipers’ Pipes and Drums, a bugler and the presentation of the memorial wreath. Mays Landing resident Michael D. Schenck, master gunnery sergeant, U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and a member of the Veterans Advisory Board, will provide the keynote address.

VIM seek volunteers: Volunteers in Medicine needs volunteers to help staff its free health care clinic to serve uninsured members of the community in the Family Service Association building at English Creek Road in Egg Harbor Township. Spring plant sale at Cape Tech: The Cape May County Technical High School agriscience and horticultural program will hold its annual plant sale through May. The greenhouse located behind the school at 188 Crest Haven Road is open from 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. Visitors may choose from featured varieties of plants, flowers, vegetables and herbs, including geraniums, petunias, coleus, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, hot peppers, eggplant and herbs. Students are available to explain how to grow your selection and the conditions needed for growth. Hats Off to the Royals luncheon, fashion show: The Cape Women’s Resource Fund will hold a fundraiser 1 p.m. May 20 at the Grand Hotel of Cape May, 1045 Beach Ave. Women’s and children’s fashions are from Bellanova and Nesting, in Stone Harbor, and Cotton and Company, in Cape May. Women are encouraged to wear hats and prizes will be awarded. The event is sponsored by Sturdy Savings Bank and funds scholarships for Cape May County women. Proceeds from the no-bid auction benefit the League of Women Voters of Cape May County and the American Association of University Women.Tickets are $50. RSVP needed by May 10.
